Electricity generation at the nuclear power plant Olkiluoto 2 (OL2) will be delayed until September 4, operator of the plant Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) said in a press release on Wednesday.
Earlier the authority estimated that the power generation at the unit would resume on August 28.
The production of the OL2 was interrupted on August 18 due to a leak detected in the water-cooled generator's cooling system.
The leak has now been localized to the rotor of the generator. The damaged rotor will be replaced before resumption of the power generation.
The issue, however, has no impact on nuclear safety.
