A total of 7,823 new passenger cars were registered in August 2023, which was 10 per cent more than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
In all, 13,179 new vehicles were registered in August. First registrations increased by 8 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
In January to August period of 2023, a total of 61,098 new passenger cars were registered, which was 9 per cent more than one year earlier.
Of first-time registered passenger cars in August 2023, 36 per cent were fully electric. The number of their registrations was 2,812, or 77 per cent higher than one year earlier.
For the first time, more fully electric passenger cars were registered than petrol-powered passenger cars.
Used imported passenger numbered 4,091, which was 5 per cent more than one year earlier.
