Several thousands of people on Saturday staged demonstrations at different major cities in Finland protesting against the killing of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel.

Terming the attacks on the civilians as genocide, the demonstrators demanded immediate ceasefire to stop the inhuman activities in the area.

In the capital, the procession started in the afternoon from Elielinaukio square near Helsinki Central Railway Station and ended in front of the Parliament building via Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie.

The protesters bearing Palestinian flags and different banners and festoons chanted various slogans including “Stop The Genocide, Free Palestine” and condemned the Israeli aggression in Gaza.

The demonstrators held a rally at the end of the procession where the speakers held Israel responsible for killing thousands of innocent people including children.

According to Helsinki Police, about 2000 people participated in the protest and it was ended at about 6:00 pm peacefully.

Demonstrations were also held in Tampere and Turku on Saturday protesting against the Israeli attacks in Gaza where several hundreds of people took part.

Earlier on October 20, several hundreds of people staged a demonstration at Helsinki city centre protesting against the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
