Finland will send more defence materiel worth about EUR 94 million to assist Ukraine, said the Ministry of Defence in a press release on Friday.
The President decided on the matter on Friday on the proposal of the government.
This will be the 18th package of defence materiel to Ukraine. Replacing the defence materiel capabilities contained in this package.
The combined replacement value of all defence materiel packages delivered so far is about EUR 1.3 billion.
“ The support of Finland and our allies to Ukraine remains unwavering. The core issue in terms of the future security order in Europe and in Finland is to be able to curb Russia's aggression against Ukraine,” said Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
For operational reasons and to ensure that the assistance will reach its destination safely, further details on the content of the package, the way it is to be delivered or the schedule will not be given.
Both Ukraine's needs and the resources of the Defence Forces have been taken into account when deciding on Finland's additional assistance.
Earlier, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo on Wednesday said that the Finnish government was preparing to send Finland’s 18th defence materiel package to Ukraine.
