People in Finland made about 1.5 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay in October 2025, which is nearly one tenth fewer than a year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of leisure trips abroad, however, remained on level with the previous year and was around 0.6 million in October.
The decrease in the number of domestic leisure trips was due to a decline in the number of trips with free accommodation.
In October 2025, around 1.0 million such trips were made, which is good one tenth fewer than one year earlier.
The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation grew by one tenth from the year before and was around 0.5 million.
The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country was nearly 0.5 million, which is slightly more than one year earlier.
Altogether 4.2 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 4.0 million abroad in October 2025.
