Rail services between Helsinki and northern Finland were disrupted on Sunday morning following a fault detected on the track, said national railway operator VR.
VR in a bulletin in the morning said that the intercity (IC 265) train plies between Helsinki and Kemijärvi scheduled to depart from Helsinki at 19:29 will be delayed at Oulu by about five to six hours due to a fault in the railway system.
Another intercity (IC 273) runs between Helsinki and Rovaniemi scheduled to depart from Helsinki at 23:13 will be delayed at Oulu by about two hours.
The passengers of the Kemijärvi-Helsinki intercity (IC274) scheduled to depart from Kemijärvi at 19:15 will be replaced by bus transport between Kemijärvi and Rovaniemi due to delayed departure preparations.
The bus will depart from railway station, said VR.
