The Spanish Civil Guard has dismantled a jihadist network, which recruits youngsters with the Islamic State (Daesh) doctrine via social networks, the Spanish Interior Ministry said on Saturday, reported Xinhua.
Two people with Spanish nationality have been arrested in Benavente, in north-western Spain and Cullera, in eastern Spain. They are accused of participating terrorist organization, spreading terrorism, indoctrination and recruitment of young people and minors.
The joint operation began in 2022 by the Spanish Civil Guard and the Moroccan General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) has also identified dozens of people who have received the jihadist doctrine in 10 different Spanish provinces.
The two people translated their doctrine into Spanish and spred them in private chat groups to susceptible youngsters. The Spanish Interior Ministry said that the jihadist network has specially focused their indoctrination on the 18-year-olds and minors.
