Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) grew by 3.0 per cent in March from the month before, according to Statistics Finland.
Industrial output adjusted for working days also went up by 4.5 per cent compared to March 2022.
Adjusted for working days, industrial output (C) increased by 3.4 per cent in March from one year earlier. Seasonally adjusted output grew by 2.6 per cent from the month before.
Among the examined main industries, industrial output grew most in March in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 8.9 per cent.
Output in the metal industry was 4.3 per cent higher and in the forest industry 2.3 per cent higher than in February. Output fell from the previous month most in the industry of mining and quarrying, by 10.5 per cent.
Output decreased in nearly all examined main industries from one year ago.
Compared to the previous year, output also declined most in mining and quarrying, by 8.1 per cent. Output decreased by 3.7 per cent in the food industry and by 3.6 per cent in the forest industry. Output grew only in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 13.8 per cent, and in the metal industry, by 8.8 per cent compared to March 2022.
