A rider was killed in an accident at IRRC superbike race (Imatranajo) in Imatra, a municipality in southeastern Finland on Sunday afternoon, police and the organisers said.
The accident took place at about 3:40pm when the rider fell down and skidded off the tract after he lost control of his bike on the formation lap.
He sustained serious wounds in the accident and succumbed to his injuries on the spot immediately.
The police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased.
The police are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind it.
The organizers and The Finnish Motorcycle Union expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family and fellow riders.
The Finnish Motorcycle Union also formed an investigation board in this regard.
