Two people were killed in separate road accidents at Liminka and Alajärvi on Sunday and Saturday respectively, police said in separate press releases.
Police said that a woman was killed when two private cars collided head on at Lumijoentie in Liminka, a municipality in the Northern Ostrobothnia region on Sunday.
The accident took place. near Rantakyläntie intersection at about 1:00 p.m..
The woman, who was alone in one of the cars died on the spot while driver of tanother car, also a woman was injured.
The reason behind the accident and the identity of the deceased could not be known.
Meanwhile, in another accident a motorcyclist was killed when a private car collided with the motorcycle at Alajärvi, a municipality in the South Ostrobothnia region on Saturday afternoon.
Police said that the accident took place at about 5:00 pm when the motorcycle was trying to overtake a caravan.
A car coming from opposite direction collided head on with the motorcycle resulting the death of the motorcyclist on the spot.
The identity of the victims, however, could not be known.
The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accidents.
