One person was killed in a road accident at Kauhajoki, a municipality in the Western Finland region on Monday morning, police said in a press release.
Police said that the accident took place at about 9:30 am when a Kauhajoki bound private car coming from Kurika direction skidded off the road near the intersection of Seinäjoentie and Tokerotie.
The driver, who was alone in the car died on the spot in the accident.
Responding to an alarm, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The reason behind the accident could not be known and the police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased.
The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Meanwhile, an elderly man was allegedly drowned in Suolijärvi lake in Tampere on Monday morning, police said in a press release.
Police said that the man went missing from Hervanta area in the morning. Later his body was found at the beach of Suolijärvi lake.
Police did not divulge the detail information about the death and the identity of the deceased.
Police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the death.
