A total of 10 people were killed and 301 other injured in 263 road accidents in the country in May this year, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.
The number of persons killed was six lower and that of persons injured eight lower than in May 2022.
Of the deceased five travelled by passenger car and two by motorcycle.
The number of pedestrians killed in May was two and one road user was also killed.
Among those who died, five were men and five were women.
Meanwhile, 52 persons were killed and 1,181 other injured in 942 road traffic January to May period of 2023.
The number of persons killed was nine lower and that of persons injured 69 lower than in the corresponding period of 2022.
Of the persons who were killed, 27 travelled by passenger car, seven by van and three by motorcycle.
Deaths of pedestrians numbered seven and cyclists three. In addition, five other road users were killed.
