The 75th Frankfurt Book Fair has opened its doors to visitors this week, with an opening ceremony held on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.
This year's fair focuses on the most pressing issues related to literature and society, its organizers said.
More than 4,200 exhibitors from around the world will be present at the fair. It is the largest number of exhibitors since 2020.
As the world's largest book fair in terms of the number of publishing companies represented, the five-day event running through Oct. 22 will provide diverse programs catering to both trade professionals and the public.
Industry insiders can look forward to a range of B2B opportunities, networking occasions, and presentations with eminent speakers, while private visitors can take in readings and live events with renowned authors and TV stars from around the world.
Representing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the opening ceremony, Minister of State for Culture and the Media Claudia Roth emphasized literature as a source of empathy across cultural borders.
Slovenia, this year's guest of honor, will present its literary and cultural landscape at the fair.
