955 polling stations to set-up for advance ballot in presidential poll

A total of 955 general advance polling stations will be set up across the country for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for January next year, said the Ministry of Justice in a press release on Monday.

The election will be held on January 28 and the advance voting will take place from January 17 to 23 in Finland and from January 17 to 20 abroad.

The possible second round of the election will be held on February 11, and the advance voting period for the second round is scheduled to be held from January 31 to February 6 in Finland and from January 31 to February 3 abroad.

Advance polling stations in the are country are mainly located at town halls, libraries and shopping centres.

Abroad, there will be a total of 220 advance polling stations in 89 different countries, located at Finland's diplomatic and consular missions or their offices.

Some of the advance polling stations will only be open on certain days during the advance voting period.

Eligible voters staying abroad for the entire advance voting period and on election day may also vote in advance by post from abroad.
