Juventus delivered another lackluster performance as they suffered their second consecutive loss in Serie A after a 1-0 away defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday, reported Xinhua.
Neither side managed to create a promising chance in the first half, but Sassuolo remained dangerous after the break as substitute Gregoire Defrel forced Mattia Perin to make a splendid save, while Juve defender Federico Gatti nearly scored an own goal.
The home team eventually broke the deadlock in the 64th minute, when Nicolo Fagioli's poor clearance turned into an assist for Defrel to drive home.
Juve had the opportunity to score the equalizer, but Adrien Rabiot's header was palmed away by Andrea Consigli. After the defeat, Juve still rank seventh with 44 points, while Sassuolo sit 10th with 40.
Elsewhere, Roma registered a comfortable win as they dominated Udinese 3-0, with Edoardo Bove, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Tammy Abraham on target.
Also on Sunday, Lecce drew with Sampdoria 1-1, while Torino and Salernitana also played out the same scoreline.
