Kujanpää wins gold in men´s pole vault at Chengdu Universiade

Finnish athlete Urho Väinö Johannes Kujanpää won gold for the country in the men's pole vault final at the 31st FISU Summer World University Games in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Saturday.

Kujanpää won the men's pole vault with his second attempt to reach 5.55 meters, reported Xinhua.

Patsapong Amsamarng of Thailand won silver in the event and Koen Evan Van Der Wijst of the Netherlands won bronze.

Finland bagged two medals – one gold and one bronze- in the Summer World University Games in Chengdu till Saturday.

Earlier, Finland won bronze medal in women's basketball at the game.

Finland defeated Taipei by 56 points to 49 and secured third place.
