An elderly man, who went missing at the weekend from Kuusamo, a municipality under Northern Ostrobothnia region, was found dead on Sunday, police said in a press release.
A patrol of the voluntary rescue service based on the information from the local people recovered his body from Kuusamo area in the afternoon.
Earlier on Saturday, the police in a release including the photos the missing person and his car said that the man went missing in between late Friday and early Saturday nights from the locality and requested information from the people in this regard.
The police said that the man might have been driving his car at the locality or other parts of Northern Finland after he had been seen for the last time in Kuusamo.
Police, however, did not divulge detail about the identity of the deceased.
Police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the death.
