Producer prices of agricultural products increased by one per cent during the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous year’s corresponding period, according to Statistics Finland.
Prices of meat and animal products increased by 12%. Prices of plant products, however, decreased by 16%.
The drastic decrease in the prices of cereals and oil plants had the biggest impact on the index development.
Although the prices of almost all other agricultural products increased from the previous year, the index remained barely positive.
The producer price of cereals decreased by 35% and the producer price of oil plants decreased by 30% during the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous year’s corresponding period.
The producer price of milk increased by 17% during the second quarter of 2023.
