Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen on Monday visited Ukraine and attended an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Kyiv.
“Visiting Kyiv today (Monday) with EU colleagues. Impressed with and moved by Ukraine and Ukrainians’ strong and united response in the face of brutal Russian aggression,” Valtonen wrote in her twitter on Monday afternoon.
The EU foreign ministers met Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba to discuss the EU’s support to Ukraine, the EU–Ukraine relations and Ukraine’s convergence with the EU, said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a press release.
“Finland will stand with Ukraine as long as it takes. With this visit to Kyiv, we are sending an important message of the EU’s unwavering long-term support to Ukraine,” said Valtonen.
The EU Foreign Ministers also discussed eace Formula and related global advocacy efforts.
“Despite the ongoing war, we are working towards a just and lasting peace. We are seeking broad international support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula,” Valtonen added.
