School-end marked as 25,100 graduate across country this year

About 25,100 high school students graduated in Finland this year and the number is about 400 higher compared to the previous year.

Schools authorities all over the country on Saturday celebrated the end of academic year and beginning of the summer vacation.

The students and guardians gathered in the classrooms of their respective schools and collected results of the previous academic year.

The students of the junior classes also hosted farewell reception to the graduates who completed their high school education.

Later the young pupils were seen to celebrate the end of school by gathering with friends.

The police also monitor the use of intoxicants by young people across the country, with particular focus on places where they gathered, such as playgrounds and school yards.
